Snowy Bushwhack of Halcott Mountain, a Trailless Catskill 3500 Peak from Route 42 in Lexington

Halcott is one of the lowest of the Catskill 3500 peaks in the Catskill Mountains. Standing tall at 3,509 feet in elevation, the mountain doesn't offer much beyond the 3500 Club canister at the summit and the satisfaction of finishing peak.

For this hike we began at the parking lot on Route 42 in Lexington, NY and followed the fairly well worn in herd path to the summit of the mountain. There are no official hiking trails on Halcott Mountain and it is considered one of the trailless Catskill 3500 peaks.
