The Windham Path - A scenic, family friendly trail loop in the Catskills
The Windham Path is a multi-use, family friendly walking trail located just east of downtown Windham with trailheads on Route 23 and Route 296 in the Catskill Park. The main trail is a 1.5 mile loop. If you begin at the Route 296 trailhead, it's a half mile spur trail to the main loop, resulting in a 2.5 mile walk in total.
The Windham Path offers a safe space to recreate by bicycle or foot (and stroller) in the summer, and cross country ski or snowshoe in the winter. We tend to enjoy the trail the most, as the seasons are turning, since the graded and well maintained trail doesn't tend to get muddy at all. In the spring it's one of the first areas to be snow free and in the fall, one of the last to be snow covered.
